Police on Monday night arrested an accused online gambling mastermind, Masudur Rahman (30) from Komarpur market of Mujibnagar upazila in Meherpur district.
According to the police source, Masud Rahman is the son of Munser Ali of Boliyarpur village of Meherpur Sadar Upazila. He is the owner of Walton Show Room in Komarpur Bazar. Masud was produced in the court at around 11 o'clock on Tuesday.
Mujibnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mehdi Russell said that Meherpur District Police's investigation and arrest operation is ongoing to ban online gambling. As part of this, the use of information technology and the confession of an accused who was arrested a few days ago, the issue of Masud Rahman came to the fore.
Police confirmed that Masud is a large-scale agent and mastermind of online gambling. In the wake of this, an operation was conducted to arrest Masud Rahman. Police managed to arrest him from Komarpur Bazar on Monday evening. Masud is being questioned about online gambling. He has been handed over to the Meherpur court today as an accused in the online gambling case, said the OC.
