Chuadanga police arrested a man on charge of killing a housewife on Thursday (September 9). This information was provided in a press conference held at Chuadanga police station on the same day.
The deceased was identified as Jesmin Khatun alias Ayna, 38, wife of Habibur Rahman of village Jadobpur in the upazila. Jasmin’s husband Habibur is an expatriate living in Kuwait. Jesmin was slaughtered to death at village Notun Jadobpur in sadar upazila of Chuadanga district at around 3 am on Thursday. The arrestee is Mamun Hossain, son of Mohammad Uththan Hossain of village Nuton Jadobpur in sadarupazila of the district.
According to the press conference of Chuadanga police, Mamun had an affair with Jesmin and tried to pressure her into getting marriage to him but, she denied his proposal. He bought sleeping pills from Dasmaile Bazaar in the upazila and tricked Jasmin into taking it. Later, he slaughtered her with a sharp weapon. On information of the slaughter a team of police, led by Jahangir Alam, Additional Police Super (Sadar Circle), rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
Police recovered the used weapon from there. A case was filed with Chuadanga police station in this regard.
