Renowned theatre personality Mamunur Rashid is making his much-anticipated return to television with a brand-new drama serial titled ‘Choron Chhuye Jai’. This 100-episode long serial is both written and directed by the veteran artiste himself. The drama is set to premiere on Channel i this week and will air from Saturdays to Wednesdays at 7:50pm.
Mamunur Rashid, widely respected as a playwright, actor, and director, is known for portraying the depth of human emotions and social realities through his work. Speaking about his new project, he said, “This is not a romantic tale. It’s a story of a wounded land wrapped in patriotism, affection, grief, and longing. It’s about rain in the chest, loss in the eyes, being consumed by love, and being burned by it too.”
‘Choron Chhuye Jai’ delves deep into the complexities of family relationships and social structures. It highlights both visible and hidden conflicts that arise in everyday life, offering viewers a rich and emotional experience.
Explaining his decision to return to directing after a long break, Mamunur Rashid shared, “This is the kind of narrative audiences look for in long-running serials. Every family faces conflicts — some visible, some hidden — and this drama sheds light on those untold stories. I’ve slowed down in recent years, and this marks my return after a significant pause. I hope viewers will connect with it.”
The drama boasts a stellar cast including Mamunur Rashid himself, Chanchal Chowdhury, Abul Kalam Azad, Shamima Tushti, Ahsan Habib Nasim, Azad Abul Kalam, Joyraj, Shofol Khan, Pavel Azad, and Sushama Sarker.
Audiences can look forward to a thoughtful and emotional television experience with ‘Choron Chhuye Jai’.
