Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud has urged the mass media including radio to come forward to make the people of the country alert against rumours and anti-cultural activities.
The minister made the remarks while addressing the golden jubilee progamme of Bangladesh Betar Khulna, joining from Bangladesh Betar Bhaban in the capital through a videoconference.
Dr Hasan said, "We have to create radio programmes keeping in mind the country's own culture and heritage."
Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque and District Council Chairman Sheikh Harunur Rashid attended the programme as special guests from Khulna Betar.
Information Secretary Khwaja Mia was the special guest on the occasion from Dhaka Betar while, Director General of Bangladesh Betar Hosne Ara Talukder presided over the programme via Zoom App.
On December 4, 1970, Bangladesh Betar started its journey in the administrative building of Khulna University at Gallamari on the outskirts of Khulna city.
