In an effort to effectively fight Covid -19 and ensure proper health services, the government has promoted nearly 1,250 physicians and attached them to different hospitals across the country.
The Health Services Division issued separate notifications in this regard on July 4 and July 5.
According to the notification, the physicians have to work at Corona unit and all have been asked to join their workplace on Tuesday.
Those who were promoted were asked to withdraw their salary from their previous workplaces.
Talking to UNB, Health Minister Zahid Maleque, said “The hospitals are struggling to provide medical services with small manpower following the surge in Covid cases in the country. To overcome the situation, the physicians from Medical Colleges have been attached to different hospitals and they will return to their previous workplace when the situation improves.”
