Cannes the Marché du Film’s programme has thought of expanding their immersive experience. The new platform is going to accelerate immersive entertainment. The official website of Cannes stated that a 6-day event starting from May 12 up to May 17 has been planned with Cannes XR to make an event that is dedicated to immersive entertainment.

It was also mentioned, “The programme aims to be a genuine growth accelerator for the XR entertainment ecosystem, fostering ties between XR players internationally, helping them to promote and develop their activities in collaboration with the film industry.” Cannes XR has partnered with Positron and Brogent Technologies to introduce a new VR theater, dedicated space and competition.

Keeping the original 700-square meter exhibition space in the basement of Cannes’ Palais des Festivals intact, the programme will setup another 1600 square meter space for exhibition with arrangements for outdoor reception with beach views.  The new space will be reachable by shuttle from the Palais, and will also house a multi-seat theatre equipped with Positron’s patented Voyager VR chairs, which are full-motion platforms designed to showcase cinematic VR.
