Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui on Tuesday was appointed as the new Director-General (DG) of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
He will replace outgoing Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a circular in this regard on January 30.
Before that position, he served as director of the headquarters, Military Training Directorate. He also served as Commander of, the 9th Artillery Brigade and Director of the Internal Affairs Bureau of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence. The outing chief of the BGB Maj Gen AKM Nazmul Hasan took charge as the BGB chief on 29 January last year.
