Police arrested main accused who mercilessly attacked schoolgirl with hammer at Jhamarghop village under Lohagara upazila in Narail for refusing love proposal.
The student of Haji Mofazzel Swarany High School was beaten with hammer on Saturday. Police arrested the accused from near Forest Research Institute at Soloshahar area in Chattogram on Monday night. The arrestee was identified as Obaidur Rahman, 21, son of Azmol Hossain of Lahuria village of Lohagora upazila. Police Super Md. Jashim Uddin said this at a press briefing at his office on Wednesday.

OC of Lohagora Police Station Mokarrom Hossain said that a class-eight school girl of Haji Mofazzel Swarany High School was beaten with a hammer by Obaidur Rahman and his associate Kabul on the way of private tuition at Gobindapara area at Lahuria of Lohagara upazila on Saturday morning reportedly for refusing a love proposal.
The victim is Suborna, daughter of Liakat Mollah of Jhamarghop village. Narail Police Super Md Jasim Uddin rescued the girl and took her to Narail Sadar Hospital. Deputy Commissioner Anjuman Ara and the SP visited the girl at the hospital.
