Police have arrested the main accused of Mamun murder case from Arani Bazar area under Bagha upazila in Rajshahi district on Saturday afternoon.
The arrested Mizanur Rahman Khokon, son of Box Ali, is a cousin of the victim Mamun Hossain, 32, son of Rahim Ali, residents of Piadapara village under the upazila.
Earlier on Saturday morning, Mamun and the accused Khokon locked into an altercation over selling cattle meat at lower price.
At one stage of the altercation, Khokon attacked Mamun with sharp weapons used for processing meat, leaving him critically injured.
Mamun then, succumbed to his injuries while he was being taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Later, the victim's elder brother lodged a murder case with Bagha Police Station accusing Khokon and another suspected.
Following the case, police conducted a raid in the area and arrested the main accused, said Aminul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bagha Police Station.
Police are conducting raids to arrest the another accused, added the OC.
