Mahfuzur Rahman Khan, nine times National Film Awardee, has been admitted to the ICU in critical condition.
He was admitted to Green Life Hospital in the capital on November 25 at 10:30 pm after he fell ill. He was put on life support there. He was taken off life support yesterday and is being closely monitored in ICU. Secretary General of Bangladesh Film Directors Association Badiul Alok Khokon said this last night.
He said, ‘He has been taken off life support and he has been placed in ICU. The bleeding has stopped and his condition is better now. Everyone please pray for Mahfuz bhai so that he can recover and return to work among us all.’
He was awarded the National Film Award nine times, eight times the Bachsas Awards, and Meril Prothom Alo Award in a special category for his cinematography of films.
Mahfuzur Rahman Khan was born on May 19, 1949 on Hakim Habibur Rahman Road in Old Dhaka. As a professional cinematographer, he worked on his first film in 1972.
