International group art exhibition at Safiuddin Shilpalay, in the Dhanmondi area of the capital, opened on Saturday and will run for four days. ‘Mahfuz Canvas’ has organized this vibrant art exhibition.

Paintings by 66 artists are on display in the exhibition titled "Artistic Genesis International Art Exhibition 2024: The Beginning of an Artistic Expression." Bangladesh was one of the ten nations represented among the artists. Till January 23, 2024, the exhibition is scheduled to open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The address is Safiuddin Shilpalay, Road 4, Dhanmondi, House 21A (1st Floor).

1,800 people applied to have their artwork displayed, according to the organizers. 51 paintings by Bangladeshi participants were selected for display after being examined by the juries. They claimed that the exhibition serves as a platform for up-and-coming

talent in addition to exhibiting the works of well-known artists. It offers a chance for aspiring artists to display alongside established artists, creating an atmosphere that encourages education and motivation.

Prof. Sayed Abdul Bark Alvi, the chief guest speaker, remarked, "It is a superb initiative for the newcomers in the art and painting enthusiast environment." He expresses gratitude to the audience, exhibitors, and organizers for their brave attendance at the event.

The goal of putting on a program like this, according to Mr. Mahfuzur Rahman, the founder of "Mahfuz Canvas," is to support up-and-coming artists both domestically and internationally. The creation of an equal platform for everyone in the art environment is also the most crucial element. Painting is, as we all know, the world's most vibrant and exquisite pastime. Giving aspiring artists a stage is an enormous honor.

Md. Kauser Hossain, the founder of Focus Bangladesh, claimed that water color paintings have a more vibrant appearance than other media's color schemes. He commends the initiative behind this exhibition and asserts that the goal of painting, art, and exhibitions should be to enable this country to prosper in a world rich in cultural diversity.

Sanjib Das Apu, the honoree, noted that this exhibition is unique in that admission is free. Thus, that project will undoubtedly succeed and support the upcoming generation of gifted painters. Everyone becomes family on this special day, and there is a great deal of celebration.

According to the press release, it is more than just an exhibition—it is a celebration of artistic endeavors, a cross-cultural forum, and an intellectual melting pot. By presenting a range of art forms, from traditional to contemporary, this event seeks to embrace global artistic trends while highlighting Bangladesh's rich artistic legacy.

This program honors Mahfuzur Rahman, the creator of the Mahfuz Canvas, the holder of the Guinnes World Record, and the recipient of the UAE Golden Residency. He receives recognition for his exceptional contribution to contemporary art. In addition, he tutors and is an expert in "FinTech" at the Harvard Business School.

Mahfuz Canvas is an artist's organization based in Bangladesh that offers self-taught Bangladeshi artists worldwide equal opportunities. In order to support and empower these people, the creator established the Obscure Artists community in 2018, which has since attracted 1,50,000 loyal members.

As per the event, Mahfuz Canvas has effectively organized over 15 sponsored art exhibitions and events, 8 national exhibitions, and 14 international exhibitions (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, India, San Francisco, Texas). These exhibitions and events have provided artists with a distinguished platform to showcase their remarkable abilities.

The organizers state that one of the difficulties impoverished artists frequently encounter is not having access to opportunities and resources that could aid in promoting their work and establishing connections with the larger art community. We are working to address this issue and give these artists a platform to be seen and recognized for their talent by partnering with international art galleries and organizations.
