Mahbubul Alam has been elected as the new President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) for the 2023-2025 tenure. The election, along with the election of the Senior Vice-President and six Vice-Presidents, was held at the FBCCI office in Motijheel, Dhaka.
Mahbubul Alam, the Chairman of M Alam Group, is currently serving as the President of Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI). He obtained his degree from Chattogram University and has been involved in student politics. He previously held leadership positions in various trade associations and chambers. Md Amin Helay has been elected as the Senior Vice-President, and six other Vice-Presidents have been elected from different trade associations and chambers.
The FBCCI association group election took place on July 31 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in Dhaka. The new board is scheduled to take charge on August 17.
In the association group election, the Sammilito Baboshayee Parishad panel secured 15 posts of directors, while the Baboshayee Oikko Parishad panel won 8 posts. The election saw a turnout of 89.35 percent, with 1,746 out of 1,954 voters casting their votes.
