Mahbub, Arfin made IU Bangabandhu Parishad president, GS

AL backed teachers and officer’s alliance Bangabandhu Parishad of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia got 73 members new executive committee on Tuesday.

Doctor S.A Malek, central secretary general of the wing approved the committee on December 31st, confirmed newly formed body in a press conference held at the teachers lounge of Applied Science and Technology building on the campus around 3:30pm.

Prof Dr M Mahbubur Rahman of Information and Communication Technology department and Prof Dr M Mahbubul Arfin, chairman of Tourism and Hospitality Management department have been made as president and secretary of the unit respectively.

The new body congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through the conference for fulfilling the first year of the government while the wing chalked out several programmes to observe the year of Mujib, father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Prof Dr M Anowar Hossain and Prof Dr M Jahangir Hossain of Islamic History and Culture department, Prof Dr Anwarul Haque Swapon, Dean of Biological Science faculty, Associate Prof Dr Sazzad Hossain of Statistics department, Associate Professor Shofiqul Islam of Applied Nutrition and Food Technology department, Mir Morshedur Rahman, secretary of IU officers unit attended the conference, among others.
