Magura tops Khulna Division in birth, death registration

Among the ten districts of Khulna Division, Magura District has retained the top position three times in a row in birth and death registration

Magura Deputy Commissioner Abu Naser Beg gave this information in an exchange meeting with journalists in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner on Thursday afternoon.

Under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Moham­mad Abdul Qua­der, Deputy Direc­tor of Local Gove­rnment Depart­ment Mohammad Shahadat Hossain Masud, Additional Deputy Commi­ssioner Education and (ICT) Moha­mmad Roknu­zzaman, Journalist Rashed Khan, Journalist Rupak Aich, Sharif Tehe­ran Tutul, Kazi Ashiq Rahman spoke there. 

It was informed in the meeting that Magura has achieved this 

recognition for the third time by registering 286.5 percent of births and deaths over the set target till July 25. Khulna Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Helal Mahmud Sharif handed over the crest and certificate of this achievement to Magura Deputy Commi­ssioner Mohammad Abu Naser Beg on Wednesday.

In the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abu Naser Baig told reporters that among the 10 districts of Khulna division, Magura has achieved 286.5 percent birth and death registration compared to the target from July 1 to 25. 

The official target for birth registration in Magura on July 25 was 1,887 while  4 thousand 292 people have achieved there. The percentage of which is 227 percent. On the other hand, the target for death registration was 485 people. 1 thousand 677 people have achieved there. 

The percentage of which is 346 percent. The average birth and death registration rate is 286.5 percent. In the birth and death registration survey on July 25, Satkhira is 2nd with 102 percent registration and Narail district is 3rd with 88 percent registration. Magura became the first among the 10 districts of Khulna division by achieving 339 percent average birth and death rate in May and 207 percent in June. 

The Khulna Divisional Commissioner's office conducts this survey every month based on the data of the birth and death registration monitoring cell online. This success is due to the joint efforts of Magura Municipality and District Administration starting from the Union level.
