Magura AL president Tanjel Hossain passes away

 Magura Awami League (AL) President and valiant freedom fighter Tanjel Hossain Khan died of old age complications at Magura Sadar Hospital on Monday morning, reports BSS.

He breathed his last at about 6am at the age of 73, while undergoing treatment at the hospital, family sources said. He left behind his wife, a daughter, two sons, relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death. His namaz-e-janaza was held at PTI ground field in Magura town after Asr prayer. He was buried at Pourashava graveyard in the evening, according to family sources.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader Monday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Tanjel Hossain Khan. In a condolence message, the prime minister recalled with profound respect the contributions of Tanjel Khan to the great Liberation War in 1971 and the party.

Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
