Madrasa teacher keeps child chained for 3 days

A madrasa teacher named Piyarul Islam has been accused of torturing and injuring a child student keeping him chained for three days at Noorani Hafizia Madrasa in Kadimpara of Sahapur Union in Pabna’s Ishwardi Upazila.

The victim student was identified as Mubarak Hossain, 11. He is the son of Nazrul Islam and Murshida Khatun of Banchamara village in Chadva union of Pabna’s Atgharia upazila. 

Mubarak was chained and tortured for three days. In addition to torture, he was told to spit seven times and lick it afterwards. Locals rescued him in chains and informed the police.

Teacher Piyarul Islam denied the allegations, saying, "I did not chain Mubarak. Uncle of the student senior student Sabbir Ahmed tied him”. When asked about the beating, he did not respond.

Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sheikh Nasir Uddin said the madrasa teacher has been kept in police custody. If a written complaint is received, action will be taken.
