A prize distribution, discussion meeting, Hamd, Naat, Quran recitation and Azan competition was held on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, at Al Jamiatul Islamia Sultanshahi Ghoradair Sultanul Uloom Madrasa and Orphanage in Gopalganj on Friday.
Engr. Md. Shafique Uddin, Managing Director of West Zone Power Distribution Company Limted (WZPDCL, was the chief guest at the event after Jumma prayers.
He said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman formed the Islamic foundation in Bangladesh. Allah the Almighty and Hazrat Mohammad (SAW) have always instructed to serve the innocent, orphaned, oppressed, disadvantaged people. Bangabandhu has also worked tirelessly for the innocent, orphaned, oppressed and disadvantaged people to follow the instruction. He raised his thunderous voice against injustice, irregularities. Relying on Allah, He has given our country an independent map, an independent flag.
“After the assassination of Bangabandhu on 15 August 1975, an insidious group started trying to erase the identity of the Bengali state and remove him from history. But they did not realize how unrealistic it was to forget the Bengalis whom they had found so long ago. We must have to done his unfinished work and taken forward of Bangladesh through hard work. Along with, the verdict has to be executed by bringing the self-confessed murderers of Bangabandhu,” Shafique Uddin added.
Maulana Mohammad Nasir Ahmad, Mohtamim of the Madrasa and internationally renowned speaker presided over the program. Alhaj Hafez Maulana Abdul Mannan, President of the Madrasa Committee, Alhaj Sheikh Md. Abu Dawd, religious affairs secretary of Gopalganj District Awami League, Md. Shahidul Alam, Superintend Engineer of WZPDCL, Mohammad Nazmul Huda, Manager of WZPDCL and were also present at the function.
