A case has been filed against four people for allegedly raping a madrasa student (16) in Charklark Union of Noakhali's Subarnachar Upazila. Police have arrested the third accused in the case and the mother of the main accused.
The victim's elder sister filed the case with the Charjabbar Police Station under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act on Tuesday night. The boy's mother was arrested during the night raid.
According to the complaint, the victim was a student of a local Dakhil Madrasa. For the last few years, Mamun (22) of East Charbata Union in Subarnachar used to harass him in various ways on his way to and from the madrasa. Later, a love affair developed between them two years ago. Mamun called the girl on his mobile phone and took her to a pond near their house at around 11:30 pm on July 8 and raped her. At that time, when the student shouted, the people around her came forward and Mamun quickly fled. Later, if Mamun's family is informed about the matter, they will delay their marriage and threaten the family of rape in various ways. Later, the victim's family filed a case with the police station.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Charjabbar Police Station Devpriya Das confirmed the matter and said police were conducting an operation to arrest the main accused in the case.
