A madrasah student of Hirapur village in Alaiarpur of Noakhali's Begumganj has been allegedly assaulted and abducted more than once after miscreants blackmailed to leak her video of being stripped at gunpoint.
The student has been missing for two months now. The girl's mother complained that she had not returned since the last time she was taken away from home on December 24 last year.
The victim's mother filed a case against Rasel, 25, Jobayer, 24, Saiful Islam Emon, 22, and Faisal at Noakhali Begumganj Model police station on Thursday night.
Begumganj police launched an operation on Thursday night and arrested Saiful Islam Emon and Faisal.
The mother of the missing girl told reporters that Emon and Rasel from the same area have been harassing her daughter since 2018. When she called and forbade them, they threatened to kill the mother. Then one day Rasel and Emon came to their house, assaulted the girl after stripping her at gunpoint. Later, they called a shopkeeper, stripped and forced him to stand with his daughter and recorded a video. They took the money, gold ornaments and assaulted her daughter repeatedly, threatening to make the video viral.
She said that her daughter was not spared even after marriage. They abducted her more than once when she came to visit her mother. She had to rescue her daughter by paying them ransom a number of times.
On Decemer 24, last year Rasel took my daughter again, I still don't know where she is. Last week, Rasel asked for Tk 1 lakh. He is threatening to kill me if I don't pay him the ransom, she added.
When asked about whether these issues have been reported to the police so far, she said, I had complained to Sujan Chakma of Begumganj police station. He came to my area to investigate. He informs the miscreants about everything I tell him. That’s why I was silent. He came to my house twice and told me to withdraw the GD. He has been threatening to kill me and asking for money. I just want my daughter and fair punishment for those involved in the incident.
Abdul Quader, a member of ward 6, said he was informed by the girl's mother about the incident in October last year. He has heard that the girl has been missing for the last two months.
Alaiyarpur union chairman Anisur Rahman said they are all identified terrorists in the area. Multiple cases are filed in their name.
Officer-in-Charge of Begumganj police station Kamruzzaman Sikder said, Emon and Faisal were arrested on Thursday night. We are trying to arrest the rest of them and rescue the girl.
