A madrasa student was killed as a pickup van ran over him in Sadar upazila of Netrakona on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Billal Hossain 8, son of Mosharraf Hossain of Panchashi Para Village in the Upazila.
He was the student of Nurulia Hafizia Madrasa.
Local said when Billal was returning home from the madrasa around 5:00 PM, a pickup van ran over him, leaving him dead on the spot on Netrakona-Mymensingh highway near Chollisha Bazar area.
Angry mob seized the vehicle but its driver managed to flee the scene.
