Lower courts across the country go for regular operation after a couple of days following the government’s lifting of nationwide shutdown and subsequent limited operations to contain the spread of coronavirus.
The virtual functions of the lower courts and tribunals across the country resumed after Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain issued directives in the regard.
The decision was informed through notification issued by the Supreme Court administration on Wednesday (August 11).
In the notification, it was said that the decision was taken by the chief justice after discussing the matter with judges of the Supreme Court.
The notification, signed by Supreme Court Registrar General Md Ali Akbar, also said that all the civil and criminal courts and also the tribunals will start regular operations with physical appearance.
“While conducting the regular operations at the civil and criminal courts and the tribunals, all are being directed to follow Supreme Court directives regarding protective measures on the court premises and inside the courtrooms,” said the notification.
Earlier, the virtual functions of both the higher court and the lower courts across the country resumed on July 25, the first day after Eid vacation, on a limited scale due to the Covid-19 situation. Later, the regular functions of the higher court began virtually.
