Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said, “Students have passed a difficult situation in the last two years. All activities have started anew. We are trying to make up the loss.”

She said that maybe it is not possible to cover all the deficits in one academic year. Hopefully, this and the next academic year together will be able to fill up all the gaps.

She made the comment while speaking to the media before inaugurating a textbook distribution program for Class XI-XII at the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) on Wednesday.

She then inaugurated the textbook distribution ceremony by handing over books to the students. NCTB Chairman Professor Farhadul Islam and other officials were present at the time.

The education minister said, "Primary classes have also started today (Wednesday). Secondary classes have already started. Hopefully, everything will be able to return to the normal education system soon.”

"Regarding students who will apply for admission to university with HSC grades, we will talk to the universities so that they can get some assessment done to fill the gaps," she said.

The education minister further said, “We hope the books will be good. Attempts have been made to keep the books free from error. However, there may be some for which we have a review committee.

Our textbook will be better in the coming days. For students, everyone wants an education system where they can learn with joy. Students will gain knowledge to grow up with values. Books have a big role to play in this regard, she added.

Primary schools across the country had resumed in-person classes from Monday. The primary schools were scheduled to open from March 1, however, the date was shifted to March 2 due to the Holy Shab-e-Meraj holiday. In-person classes in secondary, higher secondary and universities were resumed on February 22.
