Law enforcement forces seized a lorry carrying 12,000 liters of crude oil on Cumilla-Sylhet highway adjacent of Dharkhar Bazar at Akhaura Upazila in Brahmanbaria on Monday.
According to sources, the lorry (Chatt Metro c- 080046) was coming to Ghatura area of Brahmanbaria suburbs with 12,000 liters of crude oil extracted from Shrikail gas producing field in Muradnagar Upazila of Cumilla. The vehicle was seized while selling oil at a shop in Dharkhar Bazar. However, the driver of the lorry and his associates was able escape the spot.
Md Masud Alam, Inspector of Akhaura Police Station said the lorry was stopped for selling oil at a retail store named Himel Bhandari Oil Store at Dharkhar Bazar. Necessary legal action will be taken in this regard, he added.
