District Administration of Satkhira has increased the time of lockdown as the rate of Covid-19 infection in the district has spike up quickly in last one week. 4 patients died in the district with Covid-19 symptoms, 88 people were tested positive. Thus authorities at a Zoom meeting in Thursday decided to increase the lockdown in the district.
Satkhira Civil Surgeon Dr Md Hussain Safayat said that due to the increase of Covid-19 infection in the town, district administration has decided to increase the lockdown for one week. This lockdown will be imposed till June 24.
The district administration committee will be more active to implement the lockdown properly. Mobile court drives will be increased during the time.
Meanwhile, three more people died with Covid-19 symptoms at hospitals in Satkhira district from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Satkhira Medical Officer Jayanta Sarkar said that 88 people out of 186 in Satkhira were tested positive in last 24 years. The infection rate is 53 percent.
It is to be mentioned that the first phase of lockdown started from May 5th in the town. The lockdown later was extended from 11th May to 17th may at the second phase.
