Locals demand trial of Sharif’s killers

Hundreds of locals including women formed a human chain demanding punishment of Sharif’s killers at Adarshanagar village under Fatulla model police station in Narayanganj on Monday.

Sharif Maadbor, 27, son of Alal Madbor resident of Adarshanagar village was hacked to death by a criminal gang in front of his house at broad daylight on April 1, 2020.

The participants of this demonstration chanting slogan against the accused of the murder, all kept a leaflet on their hands sitting on chair maintaining physical distance. 

The participants of the protest rally, mostly senior citizens of Adarshanagar village frequently uttered slogans demanding rapid trial of all accused who were involved in Sharif’s murder.

After demonstration responding  to the questions of the journalists Sharif’s father Alal Madbor said, “The criminal gang who killed my son are terrorists, extortionist, and female RMG worker violators. They have no limits of criminal activities in this locality”.

Rahima Begum, mother of deceased Sharif said, “I want speedy trial of my only son’s killers and if I have to go to the Prime Minister office for that, I will go there”. She added that she has become devastated after losing her son and thus she hopes that no other mother has to face the same situation.  

Widow of Sharif Runa Akter said in extreme anger, “I became husbandless within two months of marriage so I want all the accused to be hanged in the final justice”.

The case investigator Shahadat Hossain, Inspector of Fatulla model police station informed that the nine FIR named accused and suspected six othres were captured so far.

Sharif’s father had filled a murder case with Fatulla police station accusing 11 named and unknown 3-4 others.

Family member’s of slain Sharif are under threat by the associates of the accused. They even sent a massage through a cell phone messenger ID threatening to kill all the members of Sharif’s family if they continue the case in this regard. 

Sharif’s father has already registered a General Diary number 6441 on April 20 seeking safety for his family with Fatulla police station.
