The government should take initiatives to strengthen the domestic economy for sustainable growth, experts said at an international webinar on Tuesday.
Entrepreneurial Economics Club of Dhaka School of Economics (DSCE) organised the webinar, according to a press release issued by the institution.
Climate change, the Russia-Ukraine war and the volatile global economy are contributing to the rise in inflation rate in most parts of the world, degrading economic scenarios and creating sustainability issues, speakers said.
Dr Moazzem Hossain, Adjunct Associate Professor of Griffith University, Australia, as the chief guest, described that research for economic development and the welfare of people are more critical.
Dr Md lqbal Bhuyan from South Korea and Prof Dr Anusree Paul from Canada also joined the webinar.
Prof Dr Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Coordinator of the Entrepreneurial Economics Department of Dhaka School of Economics, was the session chair of the webinar.
