Local admin active to enforce health guidelines

To protect the people from the second wave of Covid-19, the local administrations have come to ensure use of facemask.

Jhenaidah district administration, police, health department and local municipality have taken individual and collective efforts to combat the havoc at any cost. The mobile publicity mikes of the office of the district information office have been moving restlessly with warning messages for the people of the district.

Mayor of Jhenaidah municipality Saidul Karim Mintu said that they have been conducting publicity even in the remote corner of the municipality to aware people on the global pandemic and wash their hands with soap or other means to avoid germs and diseases. A number of hand washing basins were also set up at different areas, he added.

Civil Surgeon Dr Salina Begum told the Bangladesh Post that the physicians, community clinics and health sub centres in charges were advised to ensure treatment for each ad everybody suffering from cold, could, fever, headache and some other complications to save them  from the slap of the deadly corona virus.

Further, arrangements were made to check the slabs of suspected coronavirus patients at upazila and district level hospitals at a convenient rate. Covid-19 hospital located at the district Sadar hospital was ready to ensure treatment for the infected patients with adequate facilities, civil surgeon informed.

Superintendent of Police (SP) in Jhenaidah Muntasirul Islam said the policemen in have been motivating the people to wear mask and maintain the health guidelines. Policemen are also distributing facemasks among people. They have been rendering cooperation to the local administration to conduct mobile courts as necessary, Muntasirul Islam said.

Saroj Kumar Nath, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jhenaidah, said they were concern about the second wave of coronavirus and carrying out awareness programme in this regard. They have advised all the government organizations to implement “No Mask, No Service” system so that each and every persons should use mask, he added.
