Published : 23 Nov 2022 09:24 PM

In Gopalganj's Kashiani, upazila livestock officer Dr Prithvij Kumar Das has been accused of occupying a room in his office and living there for a long time. The room is said to be allotted to the Livestock Extension Officer of that office. However, the accused officer claimed that the room was a rest room.

He is illegally staying in his office without the permission of the authorities. As the room is occupied by him, there is a shortage of rooms in the office. His subordinates are unable to protest because of the fear of the dominant officer.

On Monday (November 22), it was found that there are two rooms on the second floor of the Upazila Livestock Officer's office. Among them, one room is the hall, the other is the upazila livestock officer Dr. Prithvij Kumar Das. The room has cot, chair-table, rack, fridge and other furniture. Government electricity is being used for personal purposes. They eat and drink and spend the night there. But every month you get the house rent provided by the government along with the salary.

Several employees, who did not wish to be named, said that Animal Husbandry Officer Dr. Prithvij Kumar Das has a lot of power.

He runs the office as he pleases. He has reigned supreme in the office since his accession.

He does not listen to anyone's words. He occupied the office room by force.

If someone opens his mouth against him, he harasses him in various ways.

When I spoke to Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Prithvij Kumar Das on the phone, he demanded a guest room in the room and said, "There is no night watchman in our office." It cost money to keep a night watchman. I live where the problem is. You cannot ask me this question.'

Kashiani upazila executive officer (UNO) said. Mehdi Hasan said, 'There is no opportunity to use the office room as a residence. If you have quarters, you can stay there.
