Assistant High Commissioner Sanjib Kumar Bhatty attended the function as special guest. Mayor Liton said all quarters should take the responsibility of protecting the city and its adjacent areas from the adverse impact of climate change. Massive plantation can help attaining the target.

He urged the city dwellers to plant saplings of fruity and woody trees in all open spaces and surrounding areas of offices and institutions to create a greenery atmosphere everywhere in the city. Mayor Liton called upon everybody to plant at least three saplings annually saying that better deeds of present time would help build a better and habitable planet for future generations.
