Bangladesh batsman Liton Das has gone to play the franchise-based Twenty20 league for the first time. However, he could not make his debut match worth remembering in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) match against St Lucia Zouks. His team, Jamaica Tallawahs are out of contention for the Caribbean Premier League 2019 play-offs with 4-wicket defeat against St Lucia Zouks on Friday.

Liton made a run-a-ball 2 during his side’s defeat. His short 21-run innings had only 1 four. St Lucia’s Rahkeem Cornwall's blistering 51 off 25 balls paved the way for St Lucia's chase of 166, before captain Darren Sammy helped seal the four-wicket win with a couple of sixes in the penultimate over.

Earlier, Kesrick Williams missed out on a hat-trick but his 3/24 was vital in denying Jamaica the chance to hit out at the death, keeping them to 165/7. Glenn Phillips got Jamaica off to a blazing start, racing to 23 in 11 balls when Hardus Viljoen had him gloving to the wicket-keeper. Dwayne Smith survived a few chances to slam three sixes in his 58 off 38 balls.

But, after he became Williams' second wicket in the 17th over, his team could add just 25 runs in their last 20 balls.

Krishmar Santokie joined Williams in reducing the runs to a trickle, conceding just four runs in the final over and finishing on 2/31.
