Two teenage cricketers were killed in a lightning strike while playing football in the rain on Gazipur ShaheedBarkat Stadium at about 12 noon on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Nadeem 18, son of Ruhul Amin of Rathkhola area, and Mohammad Mizanur Rahman 18, of Gazipur Ideal School in Borda area.
Mohammad Farhad, an eyewitness said that when the lightning struck them, they fell on the ground and died on the spot in the stadium.
The death of these two teenage cricketers cast a shadow of mourning on the area and the families.
