A lightning strike killed a woman at Mohipur in the Sadar Upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Maseda Begum, 55, wife of Shafiqul Islam of Mohipur village under Gobratala union in the upazila.
Locals said a sudden thunderbolt hit Maseda Begum while she was working outside her house in the afternoon, killing her on the spot.
Chapainawabganj sadar upazila administration gave Tk 10,000 to the victim's family.
