Three persons from the same area were seriously injured in a sudden thunderstorm while drying paddy at Ulipur in Kurigram. The incident took place at noon on Saturday in Namarchar area of East Darichar village of Dhamshreni union of the upazila. The locals rescued the injured and admitted them to the Upazila Health Complex.
The on-duty doctors sent the injured to Kurigram Sadar Hospital as their condition was critical.
According to local sources, the deceased have been identified as Nurul Qari, 65, son of late Sahab Uddin, Rahena Begum, 60, wife of Abul Hossain, Golapi Begum, 40, wife of Mozaffar Rahman and Sohail Mia, 18, son of Abdus Salam. Keep drying. At that time, when lightning and hail suddenly started at noon, they were seriously injured.
Later, the locals rescued the injured and brought them to the Upazila Health Complex. After initial treatment, Sohail Mia recovered but the rest were shifted to Kurigram Sadar Hospital as their condition was critical.
Sohail Mia said that the paddy has been damaged due to lack of sunshine due to heavy rains for the past few days. During the drying of paddy in Namarchar on Saturday morning, when lightning and hail suddenly started, everyone present was injured.
