Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Friday predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind in parts of the country, reports BSS.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Barishal, Khulna, Mymensingh and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country on the day,” a met office release said.
Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, it said.
The met release also said the well-marked low over Bihar and adjoining area now lies over East Madhya Pradesh and adjoining area.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Horiyana, Uttar Pradesh, centre of the well-marked low, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh as one of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
Country’s maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 35.0 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi and minimum temperature on Friday 23.9 degrees Celsius at Sandwip.
The maximum rainfall was recorded 53 millimeters (mm) at Kutubdia on Friday.
The sun sets at 6.20 pm on Friday and rises at 5.40 am today (Saturday) in the capital.
