Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Saturday predicted that rain or thundershowers may occur at many parts of the country today (Sunday), reports BSS.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and one or two places over Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at some places over the country”, said a BMD bulletin issued on Saturday.
“Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak over North Bay”, it added.
However, the day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The bulletin also predicted increasing rainfall activity in the next 72 hours staring at 9am on Saturday.
The highest temperature on Friday was recorded 35.0 degrees Celsius in Patuakhali in Barishal division and today’s minimum temperature is 23.0 degrees Celsius in Ishurdi of Rajshahi division.
Highest rainfall was recorded 53 millimeters (mm) at Rangamati under Chattogram division on Saturday. The sun sets at 5:42 pm on Saturday and rises at 5:52 am today (Sunday) in the capital.
