Light to moderate rain likely

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Tuesday predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in different parts of the country, reports BSS. 

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Chattogram and Rangpur divisions, at many places over Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country today,” said a met office release.

Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajsthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated trough extends upto North Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.

Maximum temperature on Monday was recorded 35.5 degrees Celsius jointly at Ishurdi and Tarash and minimum temperature on Tuesday 25.3 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.

Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am on Tuesday was recorded 65milimeters (mm) at Tetulia.

The sun sets at 6.35 pm on Tuesday and rises at 5.33 am today (Wednesday) in the capital.
