Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted more rain across the country.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” the BMD said in its bulletin on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a mild heatwave was sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Nilphamari and Chuadanga and it may abate from some places, said the bulletin.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay. A low pressure area is likely to form over Northwest Bay and adjoining area around September 13, reads the bulletin.
The weather office recorded the highest 52 mm of rainfall in Chattogram’s Sitakunda till 6:00 am on Tuesday. Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Country's maximum temperature on Monday was recorded 36.8 degrees Celsius at Rangpur, while Tuesday’s minimum temperature was 24.8 degrees Celsius at Nikli.
