Light to moderate rain likely

Bangladesh Meteorology Department (BMD) on Tuesday predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in different parts of the country. 

According to the Met office bulletin, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over the country with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, said the forecast begins from 9am on Tuesday.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across Northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends upto the North Bay. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over the North Bay.

Country’s maximum temperature on Monday was recorded 32.7 degree Celsius at Tetulia and Tuesday’s minimum temperature 24.0 degree Celsius was jointly recorded at Tangail and Kutubdia. Country’s maximum rainfall for the 24 hours till 6am on Tuesday was recorded 268 millimeters (mm) at Bandarban.

The sun sets at 06.38 pm on Tuesday and rises at 05.31 am today (Wednesday) in the capital.
