A team of 25 members led by Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) Chief Engineer Md Abdur Rashid Khan officially visited Bashundhara bitumen plant on Wednesday at the invitation of Bashundhara Group.
The information was provided in a press release sent by Bashundhara Group on Wednesday.
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Professor and Bitumen Grade Determination Committee President Dr Mohammad Zakaria, Additional Chief Engineer of Roads and Bridges Maintenance Unit Md Ali Akhter Hossain, Additional Chief Engineer(Audit) Md Nur Hossain Hawlader, and other engineers were present during this time.
According to the press release, Bashundhara bitumen plant is the first and only bitumen manufacturing plant in Bangladesh set up in the private sector which is built with the latest technology. It was formally inaugurated on 22nd February 2020 in the presence of government, private and cabinet officials of high rank.
About 90 percent of the demand for bitumen in Bangladesh has been imported from abroad for so long.
The process of exporting Bashundhara bitumen abroad has also started which will play an immense role in the national economy along with the infrastructural development of the country.
The guests expressed satisfaction over the work plan, strategies and quality production process of Bashundhara bitumen and thanked Bashundhara Group for this great initiative that will take the country to the pinnacle of development.
After inspecting the plant, LGED Chief Engineer MdAbdur Rashid Khan Bashundharaexpressed hope that Bashundhara bitumen will play special role in the development of road.
KhandakerKingshuk Hossain, Chief Marketing Officer of Sector B highlighted the need for Bashundhara bitumen in development projects of the country.
NafizImtiazAlam, Chief Engineer of Bashundhara Oil and Gas Company Limited provided a brief overview on the overall production and quality of Bashundhara bitumen.
Senior officials of Bashundhara Oil and Gas Company Limited were also present during this time.
