The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) has distributed relief to 500 families in flood-hit areas of Baniachang and Ajmiriganj upazilas of Habiganj. Each family was given rice, pulses, salt, onion and saline.
The relief was distributed from morning till noon on Wednesday in flood-hit areas of Vijaykandi, East Vijaypur, Pirijpur and Katakhali of Ajmiriganj Upazila and Markuli area of Baniachang Upazila.
LGED Habiganj Executive Engineer Abdul Bashir, Senior Assistant Engineer Shafiqul Islam, Assistant Engineer Farhad Amin Bhuiyan, Deputy Assistant Engineer Dilip Kumar Das, Habiganj Sadar Upazila Engineer Shakib Al Hafiz, Baniachang Upazila Engineer Minarul Islam were present during the relief distribution. Senior Assistant Engineer Shafiqul Islam said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has continued to distribute relief to the families affected by the natural disaster in Sylhet. As part of this, a few days ago, Habiganj LGED distributed food among the flood victims in Sunamganj. Distributed in Habiganj on Wenesday, we will continue our efforts to help helpless people in the future.
