‘Leonardo da Vinci’ coming on stage

The new drama 'Leonardo da Vinci' is coming on the stage. The rehearsal of the play has started on December 25 organized by Shantinagar Theatre, Joypurhat. 

The play is based on the life and work of Leonardo da Vinci, written by Apurba Kumar Kundu and directed by HR Anik.

The play deals with a life lived in Italy 500 years ago.  The play includes, Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa and 'The Last Supper', the actual setting of the painting, the protection from the enemy, the surrender of the accused, the performance in the midst of the epidemic, the weeping of the motherless Vinci and the last-minute appeal of France.

Mizanur Rahman, the production director of the play, said: "Our dream was to see Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, a painting, has the potential to cope with the economic crisis in France during the corona period, on present stage. We are happy and satisfied that playwright Apurba Kumar Kundu has started the work of directing and actor-director HR Anik has responded to our call. I hope I can give a good drama to the audience.'

The playwrights of Shantinagar Theatre will act in it. The director of the play HR Anik said that the inaugural stage of the play will be held by the end of next March.
