Legal notices have been served to Bangladesh film director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and Indian director Mahesh Bhatt over not making any films, documentaries or dramas related to the Holey Artisan attack. This notice was sent by law firm 'Legal Council.’
The notice was given via the media in a press release. The notice was given by their organisation ‘Abinta Kabir Foundation’.
“We sent this notice to ‘Shonibar Bikel’ director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Bangladeshi producer Jaaz Multimedia and German producer Tandem Production," Legal Council barrister Miti Sanjana said.
“We have also given notice to three Indian filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt, Agnidev Chatterjee, and Gul Panag. Each of them were preparing for a variety of productions, including films, focusing on the events of Holey Artisan. They also contacted Mrs. Ruba Ahmed one of our clients at ‘Abinta Kabir Foundation’ for information. Gul Panag among them replied after receiving the notice. She regrets saying that they will refrain from making any production of Holey Artisan. Hopefully the rest will consider that too.”
