Back in 2011, Lara Dutta turned producer with a comic venture starring Vinay Pathak called Chalo Dilli. And now, news is that the actress is looking at wearing the producer’s hat once again. This time though it is going to be for an international collaboration.
She revealed, “I am in the process of producing a film with a UK based production house.” The actress says that the process is in full swing, however due to a standstill because of the Coronavirus, the work on the project has paused for a while. Talking about the concept of the film, Lara says, “It’s a story based in India. It’s not a fiction film and is based on facts.
It’s on the lines of Lion (2016) or Million Dollar Arm (2014).” Ask her if we’ll see her acting in the film and she reverts with a negative. “I will have no time left to act in this one,” she laughs as she reveals that there are two projects that are already keeping her busy as an actress.
“I have signed up for two web shows. I have never acted in web series before. I think the writing for web shows is brilliant. The women characters are far more superior,” she said.
Lara’s latest film appearance was in 2018, in the film Welcome to New York. In June 2019, Dutta appeared in the ITV 6-part drama, Beecham House where she played the role of Begum Samru.
