Language veteran Abul Hossain dies

Language movement veteran AbulHossain breathed his last at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital around 4-00 pm on Wednesday. He was 87 years old. Family members of AbulHossain said that they took him to the Emergency Department of RMCH where the attending doctor BillalUddin declared him dead. 

Brigadier General ShamimYazdani, Director of RMCH said that Panel Mayor-1 of RCC Shariful Islam Babu informed him over telephone around 4-00 pm that Language veteran AbulHossain is being sent to RMCH from Barind Medical College Hospital. But, he died before reaching the hospital. Dr Billal Hossain quoting family sources of AbulHossain said, language veteran AbulHossain had been suffering from breathing problems with chest pain. He was also suffering from various complications due to old age. 

Language veteran AbulHossain actively participated in the Language Movement of 1952 in Rajshahi. He was also holding the post of President of SammilitoSanskritikJote of Rajshahi till his death. On 21 February this year, Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Abdul Jalil handed over gifts sent from the Prime Minister to language veteran Abul Hossain at his home.
