Lalon festival ends in Thakurgaon

A two-day long Lalon festival was organised to commemorate the 129th death anniversary of Baul Samrat Lalon Shah, the most prominent figure in Bangladesh's baul tradition at Ranishankail Central Music School. 

Former MP Professor Yasin Ali inaugurated the festival on Thursday night. The Lalon festival ended on Friday. 

Ahmed Hossain Biplob, president of the music school, presided over the occasion. Among others, former MP and Vice-President of Awami League the district Selina Jahan Lita, Upazila Parishad Chairman Shahriar Azam Munna, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) of Nilphamari District Khandaker Mohammod Nahid Hasan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADM) Murad Baig, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Sohail Rana and Shefali Begum, Ahmed Hossain Biplob, president of the music school, presided over the occasion. Among others, Upazila Awami League Vice-President Mosharraf Hossain Bulu, Joint Secretary Anisur Rahman Baki, Central Town Club president and Head Master Babar Ali, Awami League leader Goalm Rabbani, Upazila Jubo League’s Joint Secretary Professor Mostafizur Rahman, Municipal Awami League Joint Secretary Rafiul Islam, Lecturer Prashanta Basak, Lecturer Sukumar Modak, Haripur Primary Education Officer Rabiul Islam Sabuj, Pirganj Government Primary Education Officer Fazlul Karim, Engineer Asaduzzaman Asad, Municipal Counsellor Ruhul Amin were also present at the event.

On the occasion, Central Music School Artist Group and other artists presented Lalon songs.
