Lakshmipur Municipality unveils Tk 102.80cr budget for FY ’26

Lakshmipur Municipality has announced a Tk 102.80 crore balanced budget for the fiscal year 2025-26. The announcement was made on Wednesday afternoon by Municipal Administrator and Deputy Director of the Local Government Division, Md. Jasim Uddin, during a press conference held at the municipal office. He was assisted by Municipal Executive Officer Khan Mohammad Faravee.

In his budget speech, the administrator said that the projected income and expenditure for the upcoming fiscal year are both set at Tk 102,79,86,391. No new taxes have been imposed in the proposed budget.

Key income sources include Tk 41.81 crore from general revenue, Tk 13.22 crore from water revenue, Tk 2 crore from ADP development funds, Tk 20 lakh from the capital account, and allocations of Tk 1 crore each from the IUGIP and Modern Waste Management projects. In addition, Tk 10 crore has been allocated under the COVID-19 project and Tk 25 crore from the RUTDP project.

The projected income is Tk 94.23 crore, while the opening balance stands at Tk 8.56 crore. The total expenditure is Tk 99.80 crore, leaving a closing balance of Tk 2.99 crore.

Several government officials and journalists attended the event.
