Lakshmipur district is going to be put under lockdown from this morning (Monday) to combat the spread of coronavirus. Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the district Anjan Chandra Paul issued a circular in this regard after the first Covid-19 case was confirmed in the district.
The lockdown will be in effect from 6:00am today (Monday) and will continue until further notice, the circular said, adding no one can enter or exit the district. Public transport and business establishments will remain closed as usual, but emergency services, food outlets and medical services will remain out of purview of the lockdown.
