With the receding of floodwater, the pure drinking water supply is now major challenge to protect the affected people from waterborne diseases, though it was not spreading till now in Sylhet region.

Meanwhile, the authorities concerned remain alert about the serious issue like the previous years. They already sent the pure drinking water tablets and other materials to the flood affected areas in Sylhet division according to the respective district administration and civil services offices.

In Sunamganj, the district administration fixes the inactive tubewell for suppling the pure drinking water to the affected people.

The overall flood situation in Sylhet division is improving from last few days. If the sunny weather situation will prevail in the coming two or three days the flood water will be shot down under the danger level, said Sylhet water development board officials.

However, all the rivers in division till now flow above the danger level, according to the Sylhet WDB.

Nurunnabi Mojumder, a relief and rehabilitation officer in Sylhet district, told the Bangladesh Post that they already distributed the sufficient relief materials to the affected area. The amount of relief materials will be increased if needed.
