Labourer electrocuted in Ashulia

A construction worker died and two others were critically injured after being electrocuted at Ambagan area in Ashulia of Savar, on the outskirts of the capital, on Friday evening.

The deceased was identified as Musa, 35, son of Akber Ali, hailed from Mirzaganj area of Nilfamari district, and two other injured were identified as Abul Kalam Azad, 30, and Md. Kalu, from same area.

Al Nur Tarek, Sub inspector of Ashulia police station confirmed the matter. He said, “The incident took place around 6:00pm on Friday evening and they were being electrocuted after they came in contact with a high-powered electric wire passing through a steel rod into the room, while they all were working. Later, locals taken them to Enam Medical Collage Hospital and the duty doctor of the doctor declared one of them died.

“To take legal action in this connection was underway”, said the official.
