Everything was going as per the schedule for Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha, which is one of the most anticipated films of 2020.

But COVID-19 breakout had different plans and the shoot of the film was brought to an abrupt halt. Now if the grapevine is to be believed, the film that was slated for a Christmas 2020 release may get pushed.

As per the new reports, the release of Laal Singh Chaddha on its pre-decided date looks uncertain. Aamir Khan has just completed 60 per cent of the shoot and there is still a major chunk to be shot.

All of this might lead to the film getting postponed to April 2021. As mentioned in a report by Mid-Day, a source close to the development said, “The unit of Laal Singh Chaddha was to head to Chandigarh for another round of filming.

The shoot was moving like clockwork, and Aamir was hoping to release the first teaser around Diwali. However, the lockdown has put the brakes on his plans.

Even if the shoots resume by August or September, it is unlikely that the movie will hit screens by December. It may target April 2021 for release.”

Further talking about the challenges of completing the VFX, CGI and the effects for war scenes and riots, the source added, “Besides presenting ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ Aamir as a 20-something who grows older as the narrative progresses, the film will also depict events like the Babri Masjid demolition and the Kargil war.

It won’t be easy to complete such intricate VFX work in a short time.” Laal Singh Chaddha starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan is being helmed by Secret Superstar fame Advait Chandan.

The film is the remake of the Oscar-winning Hollywood classic Forrest Gump that stars Tom Hanks. The Hindi remake also stars Mona Singh and Vijay Sethupathi in key roles.
